Frequently Asked Questions about about Veinwave™

What type of results can I expect?

Results are instant on fine facial and leg veins. There are no prior or post care limitations.

Will my veins come back?

The treated veins will remain closed; however, new areas of veins can develop over time. Facial veins are above 90% effective, while leg veins are above 70% effective.

What are the side effect of the Veinwave™?

The procedure is quite safe and complications are rare. Minor discomfort is associated with the treatment which resolves promptly. No bandages or compression stockings are used. There are no sun exposure issues or limitations. There is a rare chance of scarring. Patients return to normal activities immediately after their 30 minute treatment.

How many treatments are needed?

After a thorough evaluation of your veins, an estimate of sessions needed to obtain your goal will be presented. A second treatment or a sclerotherapy treatment may be required 4 to 6 weeks after initial treatment.

Are facial spider veins dangerous?

Red spider veins (referred to as thread veins) affect both men and women and most
commonly involve difficult-to-treat areas such as the face/nose and legs – particularly the knee and ankle areas. They are not dangerous but are cosmetically unsightly. Injection therapy for these veins is technically quite difficult and not applicable to facial veins.

Will my insurance cover the Veinwave™ treatments?

Red spider veins (thread veins) are considered cosmetic and therefore are not covered by
insurance.
