Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory phlebectomy is a simple, outpatient procedure that can be performed in our office to treat all sizes of varicose veins. Under local anesthesia, Dr. Heird will make a series of very small incisions (requiring no stitches) next to the vein. Diseased veins are then removed painlessly and quickly in sections, and patients can usually return to work within a day. The treatment leaves little to no scarring and virtually no complications. Compression hose or stockings are recommended to reducing swelling. This form of treatment is typically covered by insurance carriers.
